LIFE ON THE FRONTLINE OF TIGER PROTECTION: A survey of the working conditions of patrol rangers employed in Asia’s tiger landscapes

This publication provides considerable insights on the current realities of ranger work within the tiger landscapes of ten countries that still have confirmed tiger populations. It does so by presenting the results from 1,599 surveys completed by public sector patrol rangers at their places of work –more than one hundred conservation areas in total.

This release of this report is timed to coincide with the 4th Asia Ministerial Conference on Tiger Conservation, where government and nongovernmental experts will work together to advance the preservation of that incredible species. This report gives a strong voice to those rangers working to protect tigers, and shares with us many of their most pressing challenges and concerns. It now falls on government employers and their partners to answer that call.
